Rolwaling Trekking.

For those who wish to experience an isolate part of Nepal, one should make an exceptional trek to the Rolwaling valley, one of the most appealing regions of Nepal. Ensconced in the shadow of the Rolwaling Himal, this remote Himalayan valley lies on east of Dolakha District in Nepal. During your whole trip, Tashi Lapcha Pass will present you the most challenging time. This trek is commenced either from Dolakha Bazar or from Barhabise. From here, the trail descends steep downhill to the Tama Koshi River at Nagda.

The trail then follows the Tama Koshi upstream through rhododendron and pine forests and village's peoples by low altitude races such as Brahmins, Chhetris, Newars, and Tamangs to the alpine valley watered by the Rolwaling Khola. Beyond Nagda, the trekkers spend the night at Pikhuti or walk further up to Sigati. The Tama Koshi is crossed at Chhetchhet village beyond Gongar and the trail proceeds to Simigaon on way to the village of Beding (3510m) and Na Gaun (4120m). Here trekkers are greeted by a spectacular panorama of the Gauri Shanker and Menlungtse Peaks.

Above Na Gaun, the trail meanders up to a high lake named Chodalpa (4540m) and up to the lateral moraines of the Rolwaling glacier below the Rolwaling icefall (5181m). On reaching the Rolwaling valley, one of the most appealing regions of Nepal. Ensconced in the shadow of the Rolwaling Himal, this remote Himalayan valley lies on east of Kathmandu the most popular villages in the Rolwaling valley. After two days of rugged glacier walking one reaches high Tashi Lapcha Pass (5755m). On the other side of the Tashi Lapcha, the trail drops down into Thame village (3790m) on the Khumbu valley.
